Meet Your Host - Shelby Howe

Travel is in Shelby’s blood! She grew up in an adventurous family that prioritized travel and from a very young age, Shelby was exploring remote parts of the world. 

She studied International Business and Marine Biology at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. While there, she convinced the school’s dean to grant her a full semester’s worth of credit to participate in a three month long Outward-Bound Leadership course. This solidified Shelby’s love of the outdoors and gave her extensive experience in rock climbing, backpacking and whitewater canoeing while in North Carolina, sea kayaking in the Florida Everglades and mountaineering in Chile. After graduating, Shelby worked in Nepal for EcoTrek, Nepal learning the business of planning and guiding treks. 

MissAdventures brings women together through hosted adventure and travel

After returning from Nepal, Shelby began working at her local outdoor store before going on to become their senior apparel buyer for nearly 15 years. Shelby loved working in the outdoor industry but always dreamed of sharing her love of travel with others - particularly other women who longed for friendship, adventure and experiences that go beyond the everyday! MissAdventures was born from Shelby Howe's passion for travel that exceeds the ordinary, the belief that all women should be out experiencing the incredible things that this world has to offer and an intense desire to bring women together through travel.
